Gift sets or full sizes?
Gift sets are often the headline Black Friday offer, especially for fragrance. They can be good value, but compare the price per millilitre with the full-size product you actually use. A set built around one large bottle is usually better value than one made up of several minis.
Buying medicines and health products online
Online pharmacies in Great Britain must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council, and websites selling medicines should show the official distance-selling logo, which links to the regulator's register. Check for both before ordering. Prescription medicines aren't really a Black Friday purchase, but over-the-counter products, toiletries and health devices often are.
Loyalty schemes, such as the Boots Advantage Card, can add a little extra on top of sale prices, so make sure your card is linked before you check out.
