Claim your reward card
BT reward cards don't arrive by themselves. You have to claim the card online within three months of placing your order, and then activate it within three months of it being issued. It's a prepaid Mastercard you can spend almost anywhere, but if you miss either deadline you lose it. Put both dates in your diary when you order.
Think about the whole contract
BT broadband contracts usually last 24 months, and the price rises each spring by an amount set out in pounds and pence when you sign up. A reward card is worth a few months of bills, so compare the total cost over the contract, minus the card, with other providers' offers.
